Join Sacramento Valley Spark for a weekend of learning, creativity, and community at the Playa Academy Makers Campout! Set against the scenic backdrop of Jovia Pond, this immersive gathering offers a diverse selection of community-sourced classes designed to inspire and connect makers, artists, and dreamers.

Class offerings
Playa Academy starts with attendes selecting the classes they will attend. Some classes are signup-only, others allow drop ins. New in 2025, all course materials though your ticket purchase. Once again we’re thrilled to offer a wider variety of offerings.

Highlights include:
🎨 Shibari Workshop – Explore the art of ropework in a hands-on session.
🏕️ Theme Camp Leadership Panel – Gain insights from experienced leaders on building and managing a successful camp.
🎸 Beginner Guitar Class – Learn the basics and start playing in a supportive environment.
Tickets
General admission tickets are $100 for two nights of camping. Class supplies for premimum classes are included. Discounts codes provided to teachers and volunteers, discounts varry. More detail later.
Registering for classes
Ticketed attendees will be sent a link to register for classes. Some classes require early sign-up and demand will exceed capacity. Other classes are open to drop-ins.
Volunteers
Volunteers play a key role in making Playa Academy happen, but we expect volunteers to satisfy their obligations. To each their capacity, volunteer accordingly. Volunteers working four hours qualify for a 1/2 off discount on the $100 ticket.
Theme Camps/ Artists / Performers
While Playa Academy put classes at the center of the weekend, we enjoy the pazzi added by theme camps, art placed around the lake and performers add to the weekend.
