Sacramento Valley Spark Supporting 2nd Saturday Installations
Sacramento Valley Spark is thrilled to support the Midtown Association’s Call to Artists: Second Saturday Major Art Project for 2025! This unique opportunity invites artists and artist teams to create and showcase public art installations during Midtown’s vibrant Second Saturday programming.
A Platform for Artistic Expression
Midtown Association has a rich history of fostering creativity and community. With its mission to make Midtown Sacramento a hub for culture and vibrancy, the organization has long championed public art as a cornerstone of its placemaking efforts. Through its reinvigorated Second Saturday programming, Midtown has become a platform where art meets community, drawing visitors from near and far to celebrate Sacramento’s artistic pulse
In 2023 alone, Second Saturday engaged over 300 local artists and welcomed 138,400 visitors to Midtown’s galleries, studios, and outdoor art activations. Now, Midtown Association is taking its commitment to public art to the next level by commissioning eleven major art installations to be displayed in highly visible and unexpected locations throughout Midtown during the 2025 season.

How to Get Involved
The Call to Artists is open now, welcoming both existing works and new creations. Artists are encouraged to explore themes that reflect Midtown’s dynamic culture, such as:
- Bears
- Flowers
- Bicycles
- Dance and ballet
- Swimming and outdoor activities
However, creative freedom remains paramount—artists are not limited to these themes. Sacramento Valley Spark invites all artists to apply and bring their unique vision to life.
