Sacramento Valley Spark regrets to announce that our May 2018 event, Youmeki, A Tribal Experience, has been cancelled. The leads have all been working so hard, but due to many circumstances, everything has been put into a holding pattern so that we can come together to regroup, reprioritize, and plan a future gathering for the community. The deposit is being placed on hold with the Blue Mountain facility at this time. Meanwhile, the ticket refunding process will be put in motion as soon as possible. This is all very distressing, especially after getting our event rain-cancelled in 2016.
We know that many burners are rightly upset at this development, and we urge you all to become more present in SVS, not less. Board elections are coming up and wouldn’t it be wonderful if the most passionate among us all ran for the board and we had more candidates than open board seats?
SVS was started up in 2012, and it took many years to acquire our non-profit status. Not only does SVS need new directors, it needs new directors with creative business savvy. We are ready for the next gen take over the board. Don’t re-invent the wheel. It’s waiting for you to take the helm.
To Team Youmeki – Thank you all for your energy, creativity, and hard work. We hope you can carry those forward into the future.”
